Columbus – On November 21, Sergeant Christina J. Hayes was promoted to the rank of lieutenant by Colonel Richard S. Fambro, Patrol superintendent. Lieutenant Hayes will transfer from her current assignment at the Hamilton Post to serve as post commander at the Springfield Post.
Lieutenant Hayes began her Patrol career in May 2007 as a member of the 148th Academy Class. She earned her commission in December of that year and was assigned to the Hamilton Post. In 2010, she was selected as Post and District Trooper of the Year. In 2011, she was selected as State Trooper of the Year and earned the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement. She also earned the Criminal Patrol Award three times. As a trooper, she also served at the Cincinnati Post and at the Wilmington District Criminal Investigations Unit. In 2013, she was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Batavia Post to serve as an assistant post commander. As a sergeant, she also served at the Wilmington District Criminal Patrol Unit, at the Wilmington and Lebanon posts, and in the Public Affairs Unit.
Lieutenant Hayes earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in criminal justice-police science from Muskingum Area Technical College in 2002; a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Ohio University in 2004; and a master’s degree in business administration from Thomas Moore College in 2012. She also received a certificate in advanced leadership training from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, Public Safety Leadership Academy in 2021.
