Troopers Identify Victim Found Along I-75

FINDLAY – The Ohio State Highway Patrol has positively identified David D. Carter Sr., 39, of Melvindale, Mich., as the victim found along Interstate 75 on October 1.

On Monday, an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) worker found a sleeping bag containing human remains along I-75 near milepost 149 in Eagle Township. ODOT immediately notified the Patrol and troopers began an investigation.

Wednesday, the Melvindale Police Department contacted the Patrol in response to a law enforcement bulletin. Officials stated information contained within the bulletin partially matched the description of a missing person. DNA testing later confirmed the match.

The investigation into the death of Mr. Carter continues at this time. Anyone with information should contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol at (419) 423-1414 or the Melvindale Police Department at (313) 429-1070.
