Troopers seize $91,000 worth of cocaine in Summit County

HUDSON – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed felony drug charges against two Ohio men after a traffic stop in Summit County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized 5 pounds of cocaine valued at approximately $91,000.

On September 29, 2018, at 12:11 p.m., troopers stopped a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox with Ohio registration for a marked lanes violation on the Ohio Turnpike. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband.

The suspects, Thomas Flowers, 24, of Yorkville, and Daniel Divjak, 40, of Martins Ferry, were incarcerated in the Summit County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine, both first-degree felonies.

If convicted, each could face up to 22 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.

A photo of the seized contraband is available for download on the Patrol’s website at www.statepatrol.ohio.gov

Last year, troopers removed 262 pounds of cocaine from Ohio’s roadways. For a complete list of drug arrests by county visit: http://www.statepatrol.ohio.gov/statistics/statdocs/Highlights/2018/Drugs.pdf
