OIU, Windham police charge tavern, employee on drug charges

(AKRON) – Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit (OIU) and officers with the Windham Police Department executed a search warrant at a Windham bar, following a long-term investigation.

Windham Police criminally charged Charles Glaze, 42, of Windham, with five counts of drug trafficking, including trafficking in controlled substance - cocaine; knowingly obtain, possess or use of a controlled substance – cocaine; trafficking in controlled substance – marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia, each a fifth-degree felony. He was arrested and incarcerated into the Portage County Jail.

Agents administratively charged 4UMaryJ, Inc., also known as Nicki’s Windham Tavern, 9804 East Center Street, with 12 drug-related offenses, including multiple counts of drug sales, drug use and drug possession.

During the search warrant, agents seized cocaine and marijuana.

A preliminary hearing for Glaze is scheduled for July 6 in Portage County Common Pleas Court. The administrative case against Nicki’s Windham Tavern will be presented to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission at a later date. Possible administrative penalties include fines, suspensions, or revocation of the liquor permit.
