(CANTON) – A second person has been charged by Ohio Investigative Unit agents in conjunction with a synthetic marijuana investigation at a Canton drive-thru.

Naeem Akhtar, 42, of Canton, was taken into custody and incarcerated at the Stark County Jail on October 10. He was charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Akhtar is scheduled to be arraigned on October 13, at 9 a.m. in Canton Municipal Court.

Last week, agents charged Muhhamed Traish, 33, of Akron, for aggravated trafficking and possession of drugs. He is scheduled to appear on October 12 at 1:15 p.m. in the Canton Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing.

Agents also issued administrative charges to Dueber Drive Thru, 1037 Dueber Avenue Southwest. The permit was charged with seven administrative counts each of drug possession and also drug sales.

If convicted, both Akhtar and Traish could face jail time and fines. The administrative case will be presented to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission at a later date. Possible administrative penalties include fines, suspensions, or revocation of the liquor permit.
