Cincinnati Children's Hospital Ribbon Cutting
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and OhioMHAS Director Lori Criss attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony today at Cincinnati Children's College Hill facility, a new building to help meet children's mental and behavioral health needs.
The William K. Schubert, M.D., Mental Health Center features 83 private rooms for patients that can accommodate overnight space for families and privacy for families' involvement in their chilldren's progress, hospital officials said. The new facility makes Cincinnati Children's the largest inpatient mental health provider of any children’s hospital in the United States, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
Part of the funding for this facility came from Governor DeWine’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Initiative, an $84 million investment, to increase access to care and expand capacity across the state so kids and their families can get services and support for their behavioral health needs in or near their communities.
