Director Criss Speaks at Women's Recovery Celebration
On Thursday, OhioMHAS Director Lori Criss spoke at a celebration honoring graduates of Amethyst, an Alvis, Inc. recovery program. The Amethyst program is committed to providing a safe, stable environment in which recovering drug and alcohol dependent women, and women with families, can work toward and maintain sobriety. Amethyst offers a wide spectrum of individualized services for women and their families, including intensive outpatient treatment for addiction; traditional outpatient treatment; supportive housing; medical services; mental health and trauma treatment; family services; and job readiness and placement. The Amethyst treatment model allows families to become part of a living, healing community. Women leave Amethyst as healthy, productive citizens who work, further their education, raise children, buy homes and experience the joys that recovery can bring.
