New Infographic Series Highlights Workforce
The Ohio Psychological Association (OPA) Communication and Technology Committee has launched season 1 of a new infographic series, Meet Maria, geared at educating high school students interested in pursuing a career in psychology. Released monthly, each infographic will follow Maria as she meets various mental health professionals and learns about the different educational and career paths that are available to her. Viewers are encouraged to share the series within their organizations and/or social media accounts.

First Responder QPR Instructor Training
The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF) funds evidence-based Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Instructor training for Ohio first responder agencies. The course is being offered virtually on March 28 and April 21. Click the links for more information and to register. A self-study course option is also available. Applicants must be in one of the following categories: law enforcement, firefighter, EMS or dispatcher.

Traumatic Brain Injury and Suicide Webinar — March 28
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) can change a person’s life, increasing the risk for suicide and mental health conditions, which may go undetected or untreated for years to follow. Join the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation on March 28 for a webinar about the connections between TBI and suicide and the tools and interventions needed to help assess, identify, and treat individuals with prior TBIs. This webinar will be led by Cynthia Beaulieu, PhD, ABPP-CN, a trained certified neuropsychologist and associate professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and Brei Miller, MBA, MA, ATC, the Program Director for The Ohio Brain Injury Program. The training is free for OSPF members and $25 for non-members.

Family Peer Support, Parent Peer Support Supervisor Training
Looking to become certified as a Family Peer Supporter? The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Union County is offering Parent Peer Support Provider (PPSP) training at no cost. This training is one of two approved trainings to fulfill the requirement for becoming certified as a Family Peer Supporter in the State of Ohio. The next 40-hour PPSP training will be held virtually from April 24-28. The Board also offers a Parent Peer Support Supervisor training. At the Heart of Everything: Your Best Health — May 24
The Ohio State University College of Nursing, in partnership with the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice (EBP) in Nursing and Healthcare Community Core will present At the Heart of Everything: Your Best Health on May 24 as part of the 2023 Fuld National Institute EBP Summit. This educational event is for consumers interested in learning practical tips for better health and wellness. Experts will discuss: health literacy and why it matters; how to make the most of your healthcare visits; the role of Community Health Workers (CHWs); health translation services, and ways to increase your mental resilience. Cost is $95 (financial assistance may be available).
OYRC & Great Lakes ROTA-RC Needs Assessment
The Ohio Youth Resilience Collaborative, in partnership with the Great Lakes Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional Center, is seeking feedback regarding needs of Ohio’s rural service providers and communities. The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete. This feedback will inform use of funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
