Since the beginning of his administration Governor Mike DeWine has prioritized the health and well-being of Ohioans, making historic and meaningful investments in strengthening Ohio’s behavioral health infrastructure, workforce, and services for citizens of all ages. Ohio’s 2024-2025 State Budget (House Bill 33) continued that commitment, introducing unprecedented funding for mental health research and innovation, workforce training and development, and community-based services and supports, which include new Mental Health Peer Support Services.
Ohio Departments of Medicaid and Mental Health and Addiction Services are working together to introduce Mental Health Peer Support Services to the state’s Medicaid Behavioral Health benefit package. To advance this effort, the Departments invite you to join us on Tuesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. for an overview of the state’s new Mental Health Peer Support Service. Peer support is currently available as a Medicaid benefit for those with substance use disorder (SUD) and as a part of several evidenced-based practices. The newly designed peer support service will expand coverage to assist more individuals with mental health needs.
Please join us for this informative overview.
