During the recent Public Health Emergency, Ohio Medicaid allowed “deeming” of eligibility requirements for waiver providers across Ohio’s different Home- and Community-Based Service waiver programs. Under this flexibility, a provider that was already certified by either Ohio Department of Aging or Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities was eligible to also provide services to individuals that received services through the Ohio Home Care Waiver or MyCare in this “deemed” status.
You are receiving this e-mail because you were “deemed” eligible sometime during the pandemic to provide services to Ohio Home Care or MyCare members. Your willingness to provide services to Ohio Medicaid members during that difficult time made a difference to the people we support and allowed them to continue receiving services at home. We invite you to remain a provider for these individuals and ask that you provide additional information to comply with state and federal requirements now that the Public Health Emergency has been lifted.
What action do I need to take?
Please email the required documents below to bureaunetworkmanagement@medicaid.ohio.gov, with the subject line “Deemed Provider - (insert your unique Medicaid provider ID)” within 45 days of receiving this e-mail.
- Copy of Government Issued Photo ID.
- Copy of your Social Security Card.
- Copies of completed Training Documents (EVV, CPR, First Aid).
Standard screening for waivered service providers includes a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background check. Once we receive the above-mentioned documentation, we will provide additional guidance and instructions for the BCI background check. You will only have to do this one time for the duration of your enrollment as an Ohio Medicaid provider.
Note: this is an essential requirement that must be completed for your continued enrollment. If we do not receive this information within 45 days, you will be disenrolled and your provider agreement as an Ohio Medicaid provider for Ohio Home Care and MyCare waiver services will be terminated.
