As 2022 comes to an end, the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) team is preparing for 2023. We want to hear from you. Provide us with your feedback so that we can improve the EVV newsletter.

Update: Next Generation managed care organizations

Thank you to our Alternate EVV vendors for updating their systems with the three new managed care organizations (MCO) prior to December 1, 2022. ODM has revised the timeline and will launch the Next Generation MCOs on February 1, 2023. Please ensure visits are not being entered with one of the three new MCOs (Anthem, Amerihealth Caritas, or Humana) as the service payer until February 1, 2023.

EVV Website

The EVV Team is working to improve your experience with the ODM EVV website. As we work to provide updated, user-friendly information and reference tools, our team would love to hear ideas you have to assist us with this effort. Your comments can be submitted directly to ODMEVV@sandata.com.

You can now access the EVV website by just typing medicaid.ohio.gov/evv

January webinar: EVV Back to the Basics

January’s webinar is titled “EVV Back to Basics.” This webinar’s intended audience is providers who are just getting started with EVV and anyone interested in learning the basics of EVV. We will tackle federal and state regulations requiring EVV, data elements needed for a visit, share resources, and much more.

Registration is now open for the January 19, 2023 webinar. It will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. The recording will be available at the registration link after the event has ended.

Access, inclusion, and reasonable accommodation

EVV: Working together

During one of our weekly EVV Deep-Dive Sessions, a Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) provider asked questions about clocking in and out for the different Homemaker Personal Care (HPC) services available. A County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CBDD) employee was in the meeting and was willing to help answer the provider’s questions even though the provider was not serving the county in which this CBDD employee worked. This is an excellent example of collaboration and a reflection of our desire to help providers be successful with EVV.

EVV Deep-Dive Sessions

The EVV Deep-Dive Sessions are available to providers who have their EVV training certificate. We have heard positive feedback about this training opportunity, including that agencies have required their staff to take these trainings and learn more about EVV. Each session is an instructor-led training on the following topics:

• System Setup.
• Visit Capture.
• Visit Maintenance.
• Claims Matching and Reports.

Individualized appointments

To schedule a one-on-one learning session with a Sandata team member via Zoom, sign up online. These appointments are private to allow the sharing of protected health information (PHI) and last up to 30 minutes. Feel free to schedule as many sessions as you need.

Tip of the month

A group visit is defined as a visit where multiple individuals receive services from one or more caregivers. When a group visit is in progress, you can add a different end time for each client or add the same end time for all clients in the visit.
