Dear Neighbor,
I am proud to represent the 52nd Ohio House District and serve as the Speaker Pro Tempore, assisting Speaker Matt Huffman in leading the House of Representatives and the important legislative agenda that will support all Ohioans. It is a true honor to be the first female in House history to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass sound legislation. I also serve on the House Education, General Government, Finance, and Workforce and Higher Education committees.
If I can be of any assistance to you, please reach out to my office at 614.644.5076 or rep52@ohiohouse.gov.

House Bill 1002

I introduced a new piece of legislation that supports Ohio’s Hispanic and Latino communities by reinstating legislators as nonvoting members of the Ohio Commission on Hispanic-Latino Affairs. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Mary Santiago Lorain El Centro and the dedicated members of the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs (OCHLA), whose leadership and commitment continue to make a meaningful impact across our state.
Wishing everyone a happy and meaningful Hispanic Heritage Month as we celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Ohioans!
House Bill 1016

I recently introduced legislation to honor the life and sacrifice of Army Sgt. Daniel Michael Shepherd, a proud Elyria native who gave his life serving our country.
This legislation will rename State Route 57 between Chestnut Ridge Road and West River Road in Lorain County in his honor, creating a lasting tribute to a local hero who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
I am honored to join Sgt. Shepherd’s mother and family in ensuring Daniel’s legacy of courage and service is never forgotten. Renaming this stretch of road will serve as a permanent reminder to everyone who travels it of Sgt. Shepherd’s sacrifice and the profound impact he had on his family, his community, and our country.
Ohio House High School Art Exhibition
I recently recognized Makayla McLaughlin, a District 52 high school student whose artwork was selected to be included in the House of Representatives High School Student Art Exhibition.
This biennial art exhibition showcases the creativity and talent of high school students from all 99 House districts and is on display in the hallway connecting the Vern Riffe Center and the Ohio Statehouse.
The House High School Student Art Exhibition was established in 2016 under the 131st General Assembly. High school art teachers from across the state are invited to submit their students' art for consideration by the Ohio Arts Council, which helps select pieces featured in the exhibition and works in partnership with the Ohio Art Education Association on the project.

SIGNED: House Bill 455
I'm pleased to announce that Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 455, legislation to modernize Ohio’s education code by eliminating outdated educator requirements and reducing administrative burden to ensure teachers can devote more time to delivering high-quality instruction to Ohio students.
Lorain County JVS Patriot Day Ceremony - 9/11 25th Anniversary

I was honored to have the opportunity to attend the Lorain County JVS Patriot Day Ceremony, which helped me and others in the community honor those first responders who risked their lives and remember all those who lost loved ones. May we never forget.
First Lady's Luncheon

Thank you to First Lady Fran DeWine for her hard work in advancing the Dolly Parton Imagination Library over the years. Her wonderful luncheon highlighted Dolly’s life and legacy, which will make a lasting impact on Ohio’s children and their future.
If you have children under the age of 5, make sure to enroll them in the Imagination Library to receive a free book every month!
Lorain County Farm Bureau
I once again had the great joy of being recognized as a Friend of Agriculture by the Lorain County Farm Bureau. Supporting policies that advance our farmers is common sense for a stronger Ohio, and I look forward to continuing to help them grow!
Honoring the Fitch Family
The Fitch family has been such an important part of Avon’s history and success in so many ways, including farming, recreation, education, and small business, just to name a few. I was honored to present a commendation recognizing the Fitch family for their outstanding contributions to the Lorain County Boys Golf Coaches Association. The family was honored as the first members of the Lorain County Boys Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame, a truly well-deserved recognition of their lasting impact on golf in our community. Congratulations again to the Fitch family on this incredible honor!
