 I am greatly honored to represent Ohio's 80th House District, covering Miami and southern Darke counties. If you are ever in Columbus, please feel free to call and schedule a visit at The People's Office of District 80.
Establish the U.S. Space Force Academy in Ohio
 I recently signed a letter addressed to Governor DeWine, expressing strong support for Ohio to be named the future home of the U.S. Space Force Academy.
The letter, signed by Speaker Matt Huffman and members of the House Republican Caucus, highlights Ohio’s rich history of aerospace pioneers such as Neil Armstrong and John Glenn, as well as the state’s longstanding leadership in innovation, robust network of military installations, and defense industry partnerships.
This letter follows an announcement from Senator Bernie Moreno earlier this week, calling on Ohio officials to join him in bringing the U.S. Space Force Academy to Dayton, Ohio – the birthplace of aviation. You can read the full release here.
Introducing The Family Sovereignty Act
Parents should be free to raise their children the way they see fit, and not be subjected to third-party custody suits when they are not guilty of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
That's why I introduced House Bill 1013, the Family Sovereignty Act.
Thank you to an attentive constituent who surfaced this need. This bill awaits a committee assignment.
Village of Arcanum Veterans Purple Heart Ceremony
 I was honored to attend the The Village of Arcanum's 6th annual Veterans Purple Heart Ceremony, hosted by Mayor Millard. At the event, the village inducted two local heroes, Jack Beam and Gerald Trittschuh. We are forever grateful for those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.
SIGNED: House Bill 455 - Bill to Modernize Ohio's Education Code
I am a co-sponsor of House Bill 455, legislation to modernize Ohio’s education code by eliminating outdated educator requirements and reducing administrative burden to ensure teachers can devote more time to delivering high-quality instruction to Ohio students.
I'm proud to co-sponsor and vote for solid legislation like this that frees our public school teachers from unnecessary requirements that rob them of precious teaching time. We are all proud of District 80 schools whose performance records are some of the best in the state.
Key components of House Bill 455 include:
- Revises or eliminates certain reporting requirements and mandates related to the Department of Education and Workforce (DEW);
- Revises the performance measures used to calculate performance ratings for two of the six Ohio State Report Card components—1) Graduation and 2) College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness;
- Allows families of eligible children to choose to use the Early Childhood Education Grant Program instead of another source of state funding for childcare; and
- Eliminates obsolete provisions of the Ohio Revised Code related to the state report card and state assessments for public and chartered nonpublic schools.
Governor DeWine signed House Bill 455 into law, and it will take effect on October 9, 2026.
