2026 Ohio Business Tax Conference
 I was a featured panelist during the legislative session on Ohio Tax Law Changes at the 2026 Ohio Business Tax Conference, hosted by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.
 I focused on key issues in Ohio tax policy, including legislation with momentum heading into lame duck, recent changes to the state’s tax structure, and opportunities for simplification and greater predictability. I also reflected on my tenure as Ways & Means Chair, highlighting some of my significant accomplishments, remaining priorities, and my vision for the committee’s future.
Ohio State Penitentiary Visit
My colleagues, State Reps. Heidi Workman and Jack Daniels, and I recently visited the Ohio State Penitentiary (supermax), where we had a firsthand look at facility operations, correctional programming, and the challenges facing Ohio’s correctional system. A special thank you to Warden Bryant Palmer, who led us on the tour of the penitentiary.
Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Legislative Train Ride
I had the pleasure of joining the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Legislative Train Ride. Several of my colleagues and I learned about the history of this train and its role in showcasing Ohio's only national park, Cuyahoga Valley National Park. In Ohio’s Capital Budget bill, I was instrumental in securing $400,000 for the transformational Oxbow Meadows project, opening the Cuyahoga River to recreation.
If you love spending time outdoors, beautiful scenic routes, and train rides, this is just for you! Northeast Ohio has so much to offer, and this train ride is a must see.
Greater Akron/Canton Chamber Roundtable
 I was pleased to speak at the Greater Akron/Canton Chamber roundtable, sharing my perspective on Ohio’s tax climate, the impact of state tax policy on businesses, and the broader economy. State Reps. Jack Daniels and David Thomas joined me for the roundtable discussion!
Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine
 I was honored to present the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine with a commendation celebrating 175 years of transformational service, healing, and ministry across Ohio, Kentucky, South Carolina, and beyond. Thank you for all that you do!
Ohio Heart of Opportunity Tour
 I recently attended the Governor’s Heart of Opportunity Tour kickoff in Cleveland. This statewide tour celebrates Ohio's place atop CNBC's list of America's Top States for Business and features regional panel discussions on opportunities to support ongoing economic and workforce success.
The Ohio Legislature has spearheaded a variety of impactful initiatives over the years, helping to maintain a favorable regulatory climate and addressing the issues that matter most to Ohioans: providing tax relief, creating jobs, boosting energy generation, and improving access to workforce training, affordable housing, and more.
