Greetings, Friends and Neighbors!
Representative Click has been busy attending constituent events and encouraging strong county connections in District 88. Let’s take a look at what’s been Clickin’ this week!
Representative Click had the honor of attending the Fremont Prayer Rally this week. Local leaders and community members gathered to pray for the Fremont community, our great State of Ohio, and our Nation as a whole. This event is integral to Fremont's culture and continually deepens relationships among local leaders and church staff. Pastor Jeff Jemmison (photo below) organized this incredible event, and Representative Click is grateful to have attended!
This week, Representative Click attended the Educators Appreciation Breakfast in collaboration with Seneca County Collaborative. Representative Click spoke about many important legislative efforts that will directly help aid teachers in their endeavors to shape young minds. These legislative efforts include the SAM Act, Aim Higher Funding, and his co-sponsored bill, House Bill 455, which works to cut red tape for schools. Representative Click is proud to stand with our teachers and schools!
During this event, this year’s Outstanding Educators Award was presented to Linda Rose. Linda is the Preschool Coordinator for the Seneca County Park District. For more than 17 years, Linda has inspired children and families through environmental education, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. Her career reflects a deep belief that education extends beyond the walls of a classroom and that nature provides one of the greatest environments for learning. Representative Click was honored to present her with a commendation for this incredible achievement. Please help us congratulate her!
Representative Click had the opportunity to do a ride-along with Adult Parole Authority Officers Tyler See and Matthew Elder to see the incredible work that they do on a daily basis. These men provide vital support to rehabilitate constituents and ensure a smooth reentry to society. Representative Click was honored to see them work so diligently for the betterment of our community!
Today, Representative Click had the opportunity to meet with the Executive Director of the Sandusky County Land Bank. The Sandusky County Lank Bank provides opportunities for constituents to obtain property and housing without the burden of previous ownership issues. The Sandusky County Land Bank is an incredible resource for District 88, and Representative Click is proud to stand with them in the invaluable work they do.
Representative Click is happy to announce that the application period for the Brownfield Remediation Program will open August 11th, with approximately $120 million available through the program.
“Reclaiming our Brownfields is an essential step in reclaiming our communities,” said Click. “At the statehouse, we understand this and want to provide every opportunity to equip our local communities to take action.”
In House Bill 96, Ohio’s State Operating Budget, the legislature allocated $200 million over the biennium for the Brownfield Remediation Program, which has proven successful in helping local communities repurpose existing sites for future projects that can create jobs and stimulate the economy. Eligible applicants include “Lead Entities” which are counties, townships, municipal corporations, port authorities district parks, county land reutilization corporations, or organizations for profit.
