Mt. Orab Playground Groundbreaking Event
 Rep. Bird attended the groundbreaking event in Mt. Orab to celebrate the construction of a new destination playground.
 Rep. Bird helped secure $150,000 for this playground in the State Capital Budget. Outdoor activity for kids should be encouraged, and this facility will draw a crowd to Mt. Orab!
Clermont County Fair
 Rep. Bird joined several thousand Clermont Countians at the National Night Out event hosted by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Chris Stratton! Rep. Bird is thankful to the Clermont County officers who keep the community safe.
Pierce Township Police Night Out
Rep. Bird attended the Pierce Township Police Night Out, where he ran into his former student, Jonathan Wilson, who is now the Principal at Locust Corner Elementary. Congrats Jonathan!
House Bill 519 - Strengthening Ohio's Theft Laws
Rep. Bird voted in support of House Bill 519, legislation that aims to strengthen Ohio's theft laws.
House Bill 519 does the following:
- Specifies that possession or control of an electronic device or tool with the intent to commit a theft offense that involves a motor vehicle constitutes prima facie evidence of the criminal purpose required to commit the offense of possessing criminal tools.
- If the circumstances indicate that an electronic tool or device was involved in the offense of possessing criminal tools, it increases the penalty for possessing criminal tools to a fourth degree felony.
- Creates a repeat motor vehicle theft juvenile offender classification.
This bill awaits further consideration in the Senate.
