Greetings, Friends and Neighbors!
This week has been busy for Representative Click. He has been working tirelessly to ensure that District 88 has the resources and infrastructure needed to thrive in the “Heart of It All”! Here’s an update on some of Rep. Click’s policies since the summer began!
Governor DeWine recently signed the SAM Act, which will go into effect on October 6, 2026! H.B. 625 was amended into Senate Bill 276, allowing students to participate in team sports and other extracurricular activities at a neighboring school when those opportunities are not offered at their own school. Smaller schools, which cannot field a team alone, now have the opportunity to combine to provide opportunities for their students. Eligible activities include sports such as baseball, basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball, as well as any extracurricular activity that requires participation by multiple students. Representative Click proudly stands with our student athletes!
House Bill 268, Rep. Click’s CQE bill, will take effect on September 23, 2026. H.B. 268 will streamline the application process for a CQE. This legislation will remove barriers to employment for previously incarcerated individuals to support reentry into society. This bill strengthens Ohio's workforce and promotes public safety by reducing recidivism. Representative Click is proud to champion this legislation.
Rep. Click’s House Bill 393 will go into effect on August 26, 2026. H.B. 393 expands Ohio's existing state identification card program by assisting incarcerated individuals in obtaining a valid state ID before they reintegrate into society. By ensuring returning citizens have identification, this bill helps remove barriers to securing employment, housing, and healthcare for previously incarcerated individuals. Representative Click is honored to have sponsored this legislation.
The Great Seneca County Fair starts this coming week on Sunday, July 26th. Representative Click looks forward to seeing you all there!
