District 45 Happenings
Representative Gross recently visited the Oats Overnight Fulfillment Center to learn more about the company’s operations, workforce needs, and continued growth in southwest Ohio. Oats Overnight is a great example of the innovation and entrepreneurship that helps strengthen Ohio’s economy and creates new opportunities for workers in our area.
Representative Gross also had the opportunity to visit Pacific Manufacturing and learn more about the important role advanced manufacturing continues to play in Butler County and across Ohio. Conversations with local employers like this help guide the work being done at the Statehouse to support workforce development and economic growth.
Rep. Report
At the Statehouse, I was glad to see the passage of Joshua’s Alert, an important measure to help protect missing and endangered individuals. This alert will give families, law enforcement, and communities another tool when time is critical and every moment matters. By improving public awareness and response efforts, Joshua’s Alert will help support families during some of the most difficult and urgent situations they may ever face.
Additionally, Katelyn’s Law has passed the Ohio House and now moves to the Senate for further consideration. This legislation honors Katelyn Markham’s memory by strengthening accountability for those who conceal human remains to obstruct justice. Families deserve answers, and this bill helps ensure that those who try to hide the truth cannot escape responsibility.
I have also continued my work as Chair of the House Medicaid Committee. Senate Bill 315, which includes the Ohio Medicaid Program Integrity and Fraud Prevention Act, represents a major step forward in addressing waste, fraud, and abuse within Ohio’s Medicaid system. These reforms include in-person provider inspections, tougher penalties for fraud, and additional oversight tools to help protect taxpayer dollars and ensure Medicaid resources are directed toward those who truly need them.
I was also pleased to spend time in District 45 visiting local businesses such as Oats Overnight and Pacific Manufacturing. These visits are always a valuable opportunity to hear directly from employers and see the work being done right here in southwest Ohio.
Whether through district events or legislative work in Columbus, I remain committed to protecting Ohio families, supporting responsible government, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used properly.
My best,
Jennifer Gross State Representative
