Celebrating America 250
As your State Representative for the 90th District, I am honored to serve our community and uphold the values that make America and Ohio strong. I hope you and your family had a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July! 2026 is extra special as our nation celebrates America's 250th birthday - a once-in-a-generation opportunity to honor our history, celebrate our communities, and reflect on the blessings of liberty.
I had the honor of providing keynote remarks at South Webster's America 250 celebration, honoring the greatest nation on earth! I'm so grateful for where we’ve been and hopeful for where we’re going!
County Fair Office Hours
I'm greatly looking forward to catching up with you all at the Adams, Scioto, and Brown County fairs. If you would like to schedule a meeting during my office hours, please contact Rep90@ohiohouse.gov or call 614-466-2124.
SIGNED: Ohio's State Capital Budget

Adams County wins!
I was proud to help secure more than $1 million in Ohio Capital Budget funding for parks, trails, accessibility improvements, museums, fairgrounds, and community projects across Adams County.
These investments will strengthen our communities, preserve our history, and improve quality of life for years to come.

We are bringing home the bacon for Brown County!
I am excited to help secure more than $1 million in Ohio Capital Budget funding for projects that will improve our communities, strengthen local facilities, and enhance quality of life across Brown County.

Knock knock!
Who’s there? $1 million.
$1 million, who? $1 million for Scioto County community projects!
Additionally, I was able to help secure a historic $31.8 million investment for Shawnee State University!
A transformation of Massie Hall, major renovations to the Clark Memorial Library, and 21st-century learning spaces for the next generation of students. We’ve never seen anything like this in the 90th District. For years, Southern Ohio was told to wait its turn. Not this time. We delivered!

House Bill 692 - Updating Ohio's Septic System Regulations
I was proud to see the Ohio House overwhelmingly pass my bipartisan bill, HB 692, to bring common-sense reforms to Ohio's septic system regulations. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories and supported this effort as we work to reduce unnecessary burdens on homeowners.
The bill will limit the authority of boards of health to conduct routine inspections, eliminating mandatory initial and annual inspections without probable cause. This provision aims to remove red tape and unnecessary costs. It will also establish limits on restrictions related to the installation and design of home sewage treatment systems. Boards of health will not be able to stop systems from being built on sloped terrain when they are designed to safely leach downhill.
House Bill 692 awaits further consideration from the Ohio Senate.
Medicaid Prior Authorization
I recently highlighted the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM)'s announcement of changes to prior authorization requirements that went into effect on July 1, 2026.
As of this month, providers are now required to obtain additional approval once certain Medicaid service thresholds are reached, adding oversight to ensure care is truly needed and that taxpayer dollars are being used responsibly.
For years, taxpayers have watched a system where some providers cycled the same individuals through treatment over and over with little accountability. Recovery should never be about maximizing billable days, it should be about helping people build lasting, independent lives.
According to ODM, these changes are designed to streamline the prior authorization process, improve transparency, and enhance the electronic exchange of health care data between providers and payers.
Every person battling addiction deserves access to treatment. Every taxpayer deserves accountability. Those two goals are not in conflict; they go hand in hand.
Prior authorization is the approval health insurance requires from providers before covering certain medical services, treatments, or medications.

Queen Acre Lavender Farm Grand Opening

Congratulations to Queen Acre Lavender Farm on its grand opening in Peebles!
Amy is doing big things, and it was an honor to attend the ribbon cutting and celebrate this exciting day. Small businesses like this help strengthen our communities, support local agriculture, and create unique destinations for visitors and families.
Wishing Amy and everyone at Queen Acre Lavender Farm continued success as they grow and thrive. Proud to support local entrepreneurs who are investing in rural Ohio’s future!
Blake's Pharmacy Celebrating 65 years of Business

Congratulations to Blake Pharmacy on 65 years serving West Union and 50 years serving Peebles!
This family has been a positive light in our communities for generations, providing outstanding service and treating customers like family.
There was a line out the door for 65-cent ice cream sundaes! Here’s to many more years of serving Adams County.
Upholding Community Safety
I recently met with 12 recovery and rehabilitation providers to discuss concerns that many in our community have expressed following the tragic incident at one of our local parks. My heart grieves for the victim and the family during this incredibly difficult time.
Our parks are a cornerstone of our community, and every family should feel safe enjoying them. That's why we are working together to strengthen standards for rehabilitation facilities and reinforce best practices for patient care and accountability. By collaborating with providers and community partners, we can support recovery while also ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in our neighborhoods.
Observation Tower at the Great Serpent Mound Ribbon Cutting Event

Here in Peebles at the ribbon cutting for the restored observation tower at the Great Serpent Mound. (And no, it doesn’t wobble anymore!)
This weekend’s Summer Solstice marks a season of renewal, and we’re seeing that same spirit of renewal throughout the 90th District. Through programs like the Appalachian Community Grant Program, communities across southern Ohio are seeing investments that are bringing new life and new opportunities to areas that have too often felt left behind.
It’s exciting to see this momentum taking shape in our communities, and I’m grateful to everyone helping make it happen.
Office Update
This week, we say goodbye to one incredible team member and welcome another.
Faith (left) has been an outstanding part of our office, and I couldn’t be more grateful for everything she has done to serve the people of the 90th District. She is leaving to pursue a dream that few ever get the chance to chase: training full-time for the Olympics.
At the same time, I’m excited to welcome Olivia (right) to the team! Olivia joins us from the Ohio Department of Aging, where she developed a passion for serving seniors and supporting caregivers. She is another exceptionally talented young woman, and I’m looking forward to the great work she’ll do serving our district. I know you’ll make her feel right at home.
If you are ever in need of assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to our office at Rep90@ohiohouse.gov or 614-466-2124!
