Greetings from the Statehouse!
Representative Click has had a productive week advancing legislation and engaging with constituents across the district. Here’s a look at what’s been ‘Clickin’!
Small businesses remain the backbone of Ohio’s economy, and Representative Click is championing new legislation to better support their growth and competitiveness. This proposal establishes a Small Business Technology Investment Tax Credit, aimed specifically at independently owned businesses. This credit would help offset the cost of adopting modern tools such as point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and an e-commerce platform. By lowering the economic barriers, this legislation positions small businesses to compete and thrive in an increasingly digital marketplace.
This week, Representative Click also had the honor of attending a signing ceremony for Ashton Black as he becomes a Toledo Cherokee. Ashton has been playing hockey since the age of six, and this signing is a huge step towards his goal of playing in the National Hockey League. It is always encouraging to see individuals from our community reach new milestones, and we are confident that this is merely the next step in a list of many accomplishments yet to come. Congratulations, Ashton!

Representative Click also attended the “5th Year” Community Breakfast. Local leaders highlighted innovative efforts to strengthen the workforce and economic development across Northwest Ohio. This event showcased the success of this collaborative initiative, which helps students transition from high school into meaningful career pathways. The Director of 5th Year, Jim Pollock, celebrated with the students by going “all in” and wearing a colorful suit covered in 5’s! He strongly supports his students in chasing their dreams. Attendees also heard an exciting update regarding the University of Toledo’s future role in expanding these opportunities. This is an important step in aligning education with workforce needs and supporting long-term regional growth. To learn more about this initiative, please visit: https://www.my5thyear.com/
Finally, we would like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers across District 88! Your dedication to your families and communities does not go unnoticed, and Representative Click is honored to serve you.
