I am greatly honored to represent Ohio's 80th House District, covering Miami and southern Darke counties. If you are ever in Columbus, please feel free to call and schedule a visit at The People's Office of District 80.
Supporting Classical Education
The Ohio House passed H.B. No. 326 to make the Classical Learning Test recognizable at Ohio universities for students who prefer it as the entrance exam.
I am thankful to join my colleague, Representative Kevin Ritter, on this bill and to join him on the Ohio House’s podcast – Message from the House - to discuss why we think this is important and why so many parents are choosing classical education for their children.
Safeguarding School Libraries
I am a joint-sponsor of House Bill 583, alongside Rep. Kevin Ritter, which is legisaltion that limits which digital or online library database resources a public school, public library, or a state agency may offer to a minor child or, in the case of a school, a student enrolled in any of the grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.
House Bill 583 will also do the following:
- Establish safety policy and technology protection measure requirements for entities that provide digital or online library database resources to a public school, public library, or state agency.
- Permit a public school, library, or agency to offer those resources to minor children through providers that are compliant with those requirements.
- Establish a procedure under which a public school, library, or agency must notify a provider of a violation of the bill’s requirements and issue tiered penalties if the provider does not comply.
This piece of legisaltion awaits further consideration in the House Finance Committee.
Protecting Church Worship Services
I am a joint-sponsor, alongside Rep. Tex Fischer, for House Bill 662 - legislation that works to increase the penalty for disturbing a lawful meeting in certain cases.
We have introduced this legislation to help further protect worship services across the great State of Ohio.
House Bill 662 awaits a committee assignment.
Remembering Sgt. William Pitsenbarger
The Congressional Medal of Honor was awarded to Sgt. William Pitsenbarger, a native of Piqua, Ohio, who is known for his acts of uncommon courage and valor as a pararescueman in Vietnam. April 11, 2026, marked the 60th anniversary of his noteworthy acts and death while helping rescue 60 men. Several fellow pararescuemen were present to remember this great man and together with the community watched the movie made about the events, Last Full Measure. His story may be read here. I hope you will read this and tell the story and watch the movie with your children or grandchildren.
