Greetings, Friends and Neighbors!
This week has been a busy and productive week for Representative Click. Let’s take a look at what’s been Clickin’ in the Statehouse!
Representative Click attended the Seneca County Commission on Aging board meeting. He was honored to meet constituents, hear their concerns and answer questions about issues that matter most to them.
Representative Click is grateful for everything this board does for senior citizens in our district. Our senior citizens are an integral part of our community; we thank them for all their contributions to District 88!
H.B. 87- The STORK Act (Strategic Tax Opportunities for Raising Kids) had its third hearing in the House Ways and Means Commitee and continues to move forward in the legislative process. This legislation addresses the inequality in claiming a child as a dependent based on an arbitrary date.
One couple was expecting their daughter to arrive on December 28, but she arrived on January 2. Those four days didn't change how much the new parents spent preparing for their new young one, but it did cost them the ability to claim that child on their taxes. H.B. 87 fixes this issue.
Abortion Forward and other pro-abortion groups testified in opposition to H.B. 87. They expressed fear that any support for an unborn child undermines their movement. Rep. Click questioned their arguments as he advocated for parents and all Ohioans.
Representative Click had the opportunity to see a few staff members from Vanguard Sentinel Career and Technology Center. Members included Greg Edinger, Angie Morelock and Alex Binger!
Vanguard is an incredible resource in District 88, and Representative Click is happy to help them in whatever way they need!
This week on “What’s Clickin” with State Representative Gary Click, we get to hear from Rabbi Kaltmann and how the Moment of Silence bill came to be. This piece of legislation would provide a daily moment of reflection and intentionality for students within the State of Ohio.
