We Are Supporting ICE Against Illegal Immigration
I think it is important for my constituents, as well as all Ohioans, to know that my colleagues at the Ohio House and I will work tirelessly to support all law enforcement officers, especially Federal ICE Officers exercising arrest warrants on criminal and illegal immigrants.
Legislation will be introduced soon to help ensure officers are able to do their jobs and are protected against personal harm. We will not allow our state to condone or reward lawlessness.
We Are Protecting Ohio Against Childcare Fraud
The amount of Childcare fraud that has been discovered in other states is mind-boggling. First, I would like to say that I have every confidence that the offices of our State Auditor Keith Faber and Attorney General Dave Yost are doing outstanding work to prevent organized crime from occurring.
Additionally, I have gone on record with other members of the House, calling for a full investigation of any evidence of childcare fraud taking place in Ohio. Our job is to provide the highest level of accountability possible protecting Ohio taxpayers.
We Are Protecting Parental Rights In The Courts
I am in opposition of Senate Bill 174, legislation that would modernize domestic relations law and re-center the focus on the child’s best interests. Many constituents of District 80 have voiced their concerns and asked for my input. This bill was passed by the Ohio Senate, however I and a number of other House Members think this bill is wrong for Ohio.
This bill gives too much authority to judges to make the decision as to which parent will get custody of their children in divorce cases. Other legislation has been introduced which I think will be far better for the sake of the children involved and the rights of both parents.
We Are Supporting Our Veterans
I want to say a big THANK YOU to the Miami County Veterans Services Office for the invitation to speak at their January VET Talk at the Smith-O'Neal Post 5436 in Troy. I gave updates on important actions taken in the Ohio House including property tax reforms and supporting the efforts of ICE Officers addressing criminal, illegal immigrants in Ohio. Thank you to all our Veterans for your service!
