Greetings, Friends and Neighbors!
We are grateful for the opportunity to continue serving you in this exciting year of 2026. Let’s look at what has been happening at the Statehouse this week.
Representative Click has been busy attending meetings and listening closely to constituents' opinions and needs. He is proud and honored to serve the incredible people of Ohio’s 88th District.
Recently, Representative Click, alongside Representative David Thomas, introduced House Bill 613 - the Taxpayer Bill of Rights. This legislation seeks to revise how the state enforces tax assessments and resolves tax disputes. H.B. 613 would require the tax commissioner to appoint full-time officers dedicated to addressing unresolved taxpayer complaints and would establish publicly accessible online complaint forms.
Additionally, the bill would maintain a directory to help taxpayers contact the appropriate officials, enhancing transparency, accountability, and responsiveness. Overall, H.B. 613 strengthens taxpayer rights, clarifies procedural timelines, and provides remedies for administrative delays in the tax enforcement and appeals process.
Another bill Representative Click is enthusiastic about is H.B. 252, which seeks to clarify the definitions and elements of the offenses of burglary. This legislation would strengthen protections for residents and better align statutory language with prosecutorial intent and public safety priorities. Representative Click is working hard to move this piece of legislation forward.
Representative Click is also focused on H.B. 187 – the Moment of Silence Bill. This bill would require school districts to provide a daily moment of silence, ensuring that every public-school student has an opportunity for quiet reflection each school day. Representative Click is optimistic about the bill’s potential positive impact on schools.
This week on “What’s Clickin’ with Representative Click” we have the honor of hearing from Representative Roy Klopfenstein! Rep. Klopfenstein is currently serving his second term in the Ohio House and has passed some incredible pieces of legislation!
