Fellow Ohioans,
It continues to be an honor to serve as your State Representative for Summit County. This month, I’ve had the opportunity to engage with several community partners, visit with students and educators, meet with local businesses, and participate in efforts to strengthen both civic education and public infrastructure. These experiences reinforce why it’s so important we continue working together to move Ohio forward.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office. We are here to serve you.
Sincerely,
Bill Roemer State Representative District 31

Legislation Delivering Historic Property Tax Relief Signed by the Governor
On December 19, Governor DeWine signed House Bills 124, 129, 309, 186, and 335 – five initiatives I championed alongside the Ohio House Ways and Means Committee that work to curb tax hikes and deliver direct property tax relief to Ohioans, totaling more than $3 billion in savings.
These five bills represent the culmination of years of work including that of the Joint Committee on Property Tax Review and Reform, which I co-chaired, to cap property tax increases while maintaining a fair system for our schools and municipalities. While we have passed the most substantive property tax changes in perhaps 100 years, we are not done with our efforts to reform Ohio property taxation.
Cuyahoga Falls High School and Middle School Campus Ribbon Cutting
I was honored to join Superintendent Dr. Andrea Celico at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Cuyahoga Falls High School and Middle School campus. This expansion will help students further succeed and have new, additional opportunities to learn and grow.
Archbishop Hoban High School Tour
Lt. Governor Tressel, Senator Roegner and I recently took a tour of the Archbishop Hoban High School. We spoke with students and talked about the various pieces of education focused legislation we are working on. Sam Greer, pictured to the left of Senator Roegner, is committed to play football at The Ohio State University, and pictured to the right is Elbert "Rock" Hill, who is committed to play football at the University of Southern California. Congratulations to you both on your achievements and we wish you the best of luck!
APD Ride-along
On December 19th, I went on a ride-along with the Akron Police Department. We are so lucky to have this team of first responders in our community. Thank you for all that you do to keep us safe!
StateScoop Article on House Bill 23 - ECAP
House Bill 23 - legislation to strengthen public safety through a new alert system which will notify residents when a nearby convict escapes from custody - was recently featured in the StateScoop!
Governor DeWine signed this bill into law in early December, helping Ohio take a decisive step towards stronger, more responsive public safety.

Concerned Veterans for America Event
I attended the Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) event earlier this month. I'd like to thank all of our veterans and active-duty personnel for everything you do to keep our country safe and freedoms protected!
Thank you for your continued trust and support as we work to strengthen our communities, support our students, and honor the values that have shaped our state and nation. If you ever need assistance with a state issue or have feedback on legislative matters, please reach out to my office.
