House Bill 297 - Bill to Increase County Memorial Day Funds
Representative Bird is a co-sponsor of House Bill 297 - legislation that would increase the amount of funds appropriated by counties to assist veterans organizations in their efforts on Memorial Day to honor service members.
House Bill 297 does the following:
- Increases the amount a county may provide to military and veterans organizations for Memorial Day expenses.
- Increases from $100 to $200 the amount a county may appropriate to a civic organization for Memorial Day expenses.
House Bill 297 now heads to the Senate for further consideration.
Willowville Elementary School Visit
 Representative Bird recently visited Willowville Elementary School, alongside Governor Mike DeWine, as part of the Governor’s Literacy Leaders Tour – his initiative to celebrate schools that stand out for the ways they are using the Science of Reading to improve student engagement and literacy outcomes.
