Greetings, Friends and Neighbors!
Representative Click had a busy week meeting with constituents, ensuring that District 88 is well represented in the People's House. Let’s take a look at what’s been Clickin’ this week!
Representative Click toured the Whirlpool plant in Clyde this week. Whirlpool continues to be a major source of jobs and economic opportunity in both Clyde and District 88.
Representative Click was excited to tour the Whirlpool plant and is grateful for their continued investment in Clyde and the surrounding community. Rep. Click's visit coincided with the 40-year tradition of the Clyde high school band bringing Christmas cheer to the employees that work in the plant.
Additionally, the talented students of Harvest Temple Christian Academy performed at the Statehouse. We are grateful that the Statehouse recognized and honored their remarkable abilities.
Representative Click has received some input regarding data centers and has had a few conversations on the topic. He is listening and receiving all input on this important issue.
Representative Click also heard from concerned constituents which helped shape the idea for H.B. 645 - the SAM (Student Athlete Mobility) Act. This legislation was recently introduced and will receive hearings once session resumes. This important bill will help expand opportunities for students to participate in the sports they love.
H.B. 645 proposes adding a new section to the Ohio Revised Code that would allow students to petition to join interscholastic sports teams at a neighboring public school, rather than being limited to their school of residence or enrollment. This flexibility is designed to help students whose home school may not offer a particular sport or whose circumstances make another school’s athletic program a better fit. We are excited to see this legislation move forward and bring positive change to Ohio!
This week on “What’s Clickin’ with Representative Click,” the Representative sat down to discuss North Central Electric Cooperative. They covered several important district issues and highlighted the many ways Northwest Electric Cooperative helps make District 88 an outstanding place to live. You may access the podcast here!
