Request for Public Comment: U.S. EPA Region 5’s Proposal to Reject the E-Check Ease Act
My office was recently notified that the U.S. EPA Region 5 has proposed to reject the E-Check Ease Act — legislation that would have allowed residents in seven Northeast Ohio counties to submit an attestation form in place of a physical E-Check inspection.
This decision is a setback for hardworking Ohio families. The attestation option offered a practical, safe alternative that would save people both time and money. Instead, Region 5 chose to maintain an outdated process that, frankly, continues to burden families with unnecessary requirements.
I know this issue is very important to many constituents living in my district. If you’d like to provide feedback, I strongly encourage you to submit a public comment on the U.S. EPA’s proposed disapproval. You have until January 12th to submit your concerns, and you may submit them here.
