I am greatly honored to represent Ohio's 80th House District, covering Miami and southern Darke counties. If you are ever in Columbus, please feel free to call and schedule a visit at The People's Office of District 80.
Working to Honor Veterans
I recently attended the Veterans Hall of Fame Induction ceremony for four Miami County Ohioans who served our country. One of those inductees was celebrated posthumously, Alfred Daum, from West Milton, who served in the U.S. Navy and afterward worked tirelessly with the Miami Valley Veterans Museum and VSO to ensure our local veterans are given the support they need and deserve. It was an honor to attend this outstanding banquet!

Ensuring Election Integrity
I was filled with conviction voting yes as the Ohio House passed Sub. S.B. 293 - legislation that would require all mailed absentee ballots to be delivered to the board of elections by poll closing on Election Day.
The bill would align Ohio’s election laws with the 34 other states that require mailed ballots to be received before or on election day. Meanwhile, 16 states – including California, Illinois, New York, Oregon, and Washington – still allow absentee ballots to arrive after election day, a practice that prolongs the vote counting process and increases the potential for delays and errors. The goal is to put this law in place now, well ahead of next year’s election, so that the Secretary of State and Ohio’s eighty-eight county board of elections have time to prepare, advertise, and administer the change, ensuring the public is aware.
This bill now heads to the Governor for his signature.
Protecting Parents’ Rights In Schools
I will continue to push for the protection of parental rights in public schools by prohibiting students to be given mental health treatment without their parents’ knowledge or permission. Ohio law currently states that parents “shall not be informed” when their child (14 years and older) receives mental health treatment – Ohio Revised Code 5122.04.
When parents hear this, they are shocked and they should be! My bill to update this law – H.B. 172 – is a no-brainer and yet it has been met with great opposition. I will not stop working to make this right!
