Happy Thanksgiving, Friends and Neighbors!
This year has been incredibly busy and rewarding for Representative Click. One of his greatest joys is serving the wonderful people of District 88 and ensuring that their voices are heard. Representative Click has celebrated many legislative wins this year. Let’s look at some of the highlights so far!
H.B. 144 – Keith’s Law
H.B. 144 was signed into law by the Governor on October 20th 2025. This important legislation creates a voluntary database for individuals with developmental disabilities. In emergencies where every second counts, this database will help first responders quickly identify and better support those who may need additional care. We are deeply grateful for the passage of this bill, which will enhance safety and security for countless Ohioans.
H.B. 162 – The My Child, My Chart Act
H.B. 162 was passed by the House and is now headed to the Senate! This legislation strengthens parental rights by ensuring that parents and guardians have access to their children’s electronic health records. The legislation removes barriers and helps ensure children receive proper care without bureaucratic delays. We are thankful for this meaningful step forward.
 H.B. 268 – The CQE Bill
H.B. 268 has successfully passed through the House and now awaits consideration in the Senate. This bill updates state rules regarding Certificates of Qualification for Employment (CQE), which help formerly incarcerated individuals obtain occupational licenses. By adjusting eligibility timelines, H.B. 268 removes unnecessary barriers and supports individuals seeking to reenter the workforce and rebuild their lives. We are extremely grateful for this legislation!
S.B. 147 – “The Trash Bill”
S.B.147 was successfully passed by both the House and Senate this year! Senator Reineke and Representative Click worked tirelessly to advance this legislation. This legislation emphasizes greater local jurisdiction when addressing the regional interests regarding landfills in their community.
H.B. 393 – State ID Access for Reentry
H.B. 393 expands a program from the 135th General Assembly that helps incarcerated individuals obtain a state ID prior to release. This expansion extends the program to Community-Based Correctional Facilities, removing additional barriers that individuals face when returning to society. We are very grateful for this important legislation.
H.B. 486 – The Charlie Kirk American Heritage Act
H.B. 468 passed through the House last week! This bill provides an extra layer of protection for our educators who are aware of hate groups who have a track record of intimidating teachers. They strip teachers of their rights and silence an important part of our history. The Charlie Kirk American Heritage Act will provide an extra layer of protection for our educators as they teach American history in the context of the values that shaped it.
