Greetings, Friends and Neighbors,
This has been an extremely busy week for Representative Click! Many pieces of legislation have been moving, as well as several meetings with constituents. Let’s take a look at what’s been 'Clickin' in Ohio!
House Bill 393 - Legislation championed by Rep. Click and Rep Brewer, successfully passed the House and now heads to the Ohio Senate! This piece of legislation will help those who are trying to have a fresh start once they exiT incarceration.
Rep. Click said, “Few things are more critical than obtaining a state ID. Our goal is to assist those who need it most."
House Bill 393 will take down the barrier for obtaining state ID by incarcerated individuals. It will require certain community based correctional institutions to help incarcerated individuals obtain an ID before their release back into society. We are thankful for this bill and look forward to it becoming law!
House Bill 486 also passed the House. Representative Click is extremely proud of this piece of legislation. This bill provides an extra layer of protection for our educators who are aware of hate groups who have a track record of intimidating teachers.
They strip teachers of their rights and silence an important part of our history. The Charlie Kirk American Heritage Act will provide an extra layer of protection for our educators as they teach American history in the context of the values that shaped it.
House Bill 485 - The Baby Olivia Act successfully passed the House, and now heads to the Senate! House Bill 485 will require public education institutions to provide human growth and development instruction in its curriculum for grades 5-12.
This curriculum will include a high-definition ultrasound video of early fetal organ development and the video “Meet Baby Olivia”, or something similar, showing fertilization and stages of human development. We are incredibly grateful that this piece of legislation is moving forward and will continue to teach the next generation the value of human life!
This week on “What’s Clickin” with Representative Click, we get to hear a Q and A that Representative Click was the Guest Speaker for. David Nivens graciously invited Representative Click to Cincinnati University to talk with students about pressing issues within the political realm.
