I am greatly honored to represent Ohio's 80th House District, covering Miami and southern Darke counties. If you are ever in Columbus, please feel free to call and schedule a visit at The People's Office of District 80.
My First Bill Voted Out of Committee
House Bill 297 was passed by the House Veterans and Military Development Committee. This is my first bill to move this far in the process toward becoming a law and I hope it will go to the House floor for a vote soon. This bill seeks to increase the amount of funds appropriated by counties to assist veterans organizations in their efforts on Memorial Day to honor service members who were lost.
Broadband Internet is Expanding in Darke County
This ribbon-cutting event recently celebrated the announcement by Spectrum to expand highspeed fiber internet coverage to 1,600 more homes in rural Darke County. This is a huge benefit to families, businesses, and farmers whose equipment increasingly relies on internet access.
House Speaker Matt Huffman Visits Troy
Many Miami County Ohioans attended an event in Troy where they met with Speaker of the Ohio House Matt Huffman. He provided an update on numerous things including steps the House is taking to reform property tax, to make improvements in public schools, and to protect our communities against fentanyl and drug related violence.
Prayer at the Statehouse
Throughout the year, constituents, community leaders, and pastors meet for prayer at the Ohio Statehouse to pray for our legislators, our state, and our nation. I was greatly blessed to attend this prayer gathering led by the Ohio Center For Christian Virtue.
Pictured above is Pastor Lee Hutchings of Trinity Church PCA in North Canton, OH. He has become a dear friend and diligent prayer supporter.
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” -Psalm 20:7
The Ohio House Pro-Life Caucus
The work to protect every unborn baby will never stop until abortion has been ended. This is not an easy effort since many people do not believe the unborn are actually humans. This is why the Pro-Life Caucus exists; we are legislators working together to pass legislation defending the unborn. Several members of the Pro-Life Caucus are pictured here at a very helpful informational meeting in Columbus.
