We are Lowering Property Taxes in Ohio
Over 40 bills have been introduced to help lower property taxes. Measures passed in H.B. 96 are beginning to be backed up in some counties across the state. Miami County residents will be glad to see their County Commissioners taking their own action to lower inside millage and increase the Homestead Exemption for seniors living on fixed income.
We are Working to Protect the Unborn
I am a co-sponsor of the Baby Olivia Act - legislation that would enhance science education in Ohio public schools by requiring the inclusion of a medically accurate video about early human development in school curriculum. We want our students to know that the unborn baby is a person.
We are Working to Protect Parents' Rights
I co-sponsored H.B. 162, the My Child-My Chart Act – legislation that works to allow parents to access their child’s medical charts.
The bill requires a health care provider utilizing an electronic health records system to ensure, to the fullest extent permitted under the federal HIPAA Privacy Rule and Ohio law, that a minor’s parent or guardian has access in that system to the minor’s health records.
Parents are their children's authorities and must be the ones who direct their healthcare. House Bill 162 now heads to the Senate for further consideration.
We are Remembering Our Nation's History Influenced by the Bible
 Did you know that the Aitken Bible was authorized and recommended by the U.S. Congress? This week in the Ohio House, this group of pastors presented a copy of the Aitken Bible to all 99 Representatives with their name engraved on the cover.
