Dear Neighbor,
This year, our nation celebrates an extraordinary milestone - America's 250th Anniversary. For 250 years, the United States has stood as the world's longest-lasting constitutional republic, built on the enduring principles of liberty, self-government, and the belief that government derives its power from the people.
As I reflect on this historic anniversary, I am beyond honored to have been elected to serve you in the Ohio House of Representatives during such a remarkable time in our nation's history. Every day I walk into the Statehouse, I am reminded that our system of self-government only works because citizens choose to get involved, make their voices heard, and entrust their elected officials to represent them with integrity. Serving the people of the 72nd District is one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help preserve the freedoms and opportunities that generations of Americans have fought to protect.
Since taking office, I have been hard at work advancing legislation, meeting with constituents, and advocating for policies that strengthen our communities and protect Ohio families.
I'm proud to share the following legislative accomplishments I've championed for our community and state:
- Securing Historic $3 Billion in Property Tax Relief for Ohioans
- Delivering $31 Million in Eligible Investments for education and community projects throughout the 72nd District
- Advancing a Constitutional Amendment to place Voter ID before Ohio voters
- Helping secure an E-Check Victory as the U.S. EPA redesignated Northeast Ohio to "Attainment" status
Ongoing Legislative efforts:
- HJR 3: Urging Congress to Advance Congressional Term Limits
- HB 220: Prior Authorization Reform to Reduce Delays & Improve Patient Care
- HB 302: Strengthen Online Child Safety Requirements
- HB 391: Provide Clearer Property Tax Rate Ballot Language
- HB 503: Require Voter Approval Before Changes to Municipal Income Tax Reciprocity Credits
- HB 605: Codify the Spearin Doctrine in Public Construction Contracts
- HB 650: Establish the Frontier Technologies & Quantum Commission
- HB 710: Regulate and Limit Data Center Incentives & Construction
- In Progress: Ohioans First Data Privacy Bill
While we celebrate our nation's first 250 years, I believe the best chapters of the American story are still being written. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me to serve as your State Representative. Together, we can continue building a stronger Ohio and ensure that future generations inherit the same freedoms, opportunities, and blessings that have made America the greatest constitutional republic in history.
God bless you, God bless Ohio, and God bless the United States of America.
Sincerely,
Heidi Workman, State Representative, Ohio House District 72
