Greetings, Fellow Ohioans!
Representative Click has been extremely busy this week with legislation and countless meetings. Let’s take a look at what’s been going on in the Ohio Statehouse!
This week H.B.162 -The My Child My Chart Act passed the House in a bipartisan vote of 87-6! This bill requires primary health care providers who utilize electronic health record systems to ensure, to the fullest extent permitted under the federal HIPAA Privacy Rule and Ohio law, that a minor’s parent or guardian has access in that system to the minor’s health records.
Rep. Click stated that “My Child-My Chart is truly a piece of legislation that blossomed from the grassroots Ohioans. This legislation developed from a group of parents who came to me frustrated by the sudden lack of access to their children’s medical records. Today my colleagues and I took a major step in rectifying this issue and ensuring that moms and dads can fulfill their parental responsibilities”.
Representative Click is excited that this bill is addressing the concerns of Ohio constituents! House Bill 162 now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
In other news, Representative Click had the honor of attending a press conference for Whirlpool this week. Whirlpool, along with Governor Mike DeWine, JobsOhio, and the Regional Growth Partnership, announced that Whirlpool will be investing $300 million across the manufacturing facilities in both Clyde and Marion. This investment is expected to create up to 600 new jobs for Ohioans! We are excited to see the industrial industry investing in our great state!
Representative Click stated “Whirlpool's roots run deep in Sandusky County. It’s nearly impossible to find someone in Clyde or Fremont whose family is not directly connected in some way or fashion. Whirlpool’s continued strategic investment in Northwest Ohio signals continued growth and opportunities for our families, and vital economic growth for our communities. I am grateful that Whirlpool continues to recognize the advantages that our workforce has to offer, and I look forward to a continued relationship that will extend to the generations to follow.”
We are excited to see the next chapter unfold for the working constituents of district 88!
This week on “What’s Clickin' with Representative Gary Click”, Rep. Click had the honor of interviewing District 88’s very own “Teacher of the Year” Chris Monsour! Chris has taught the next generation of Ohioans with extreme excellence and dedication. Please join us in congratulating him for this incredible achievement!
