Dear Neighbor,
I am proud to represent the 52nd Ohio House District and serve as the Speaker Pro Tempore, assisting Speaker Matt Huffman in leading the House of Representatives and the important legislative agenda that will support all Ohioans. It is a true honor to be the first female in House history to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass sound legislation. I also serve on the House Education, General Government, Finance, and Workforce and Higher Education committees.
If I can be of any assistance to you, please reach out to my office at 614.644.5076 or rep52@ohiohouse.gov

Memorial Highway Bill Honoring Fallen Lorain Police Officer Phillip Wagner
I'm pleased to announce that I will soon be introducing a bill that will help honor the life and legacy of Lorain Police Officer Phillip Wagner, who tragically passed away in the line of duty on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, after being ambushed while eating lunch with another Lorain Police Officer.
Officer Wagner was a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served two tours, including one in Afghanistan. He went on to serve as an officer in the Sheffield Village Police Department for four years, and then as an officer of the Lorain Police Department for four years. Officer Wagner is leaving behind his wife of ten years, three children, his mother, brother, sister, sister-in-law, and nephew. Phillip will be truly missed by all in the community, most of all by his loving family.

Lorain County Health and Dentistry North Ridgeville Location Visit
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of going to the Lorain County Health and Dentistry North Ridgeville location to learn more about the growth and impact they have made in our community since opening one year ago.
Thank you, Dr. Dornan, for hosting me and for the continued work you do to keep our community healthy!
Lakeside Book Company Ribbon Cutting
I recently attended the Lakeside Book Company Ribbon Cutting alongside Lt. Governor Jim Tressel and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik.
Ohio has long been a national leader in manufacturing, and now we celebrate another important step forward. The investment Lakeside Book Company is making here in Willard not only showcases the power of innovation, but it also reinforces the strength of our workforce and our communities. I’m proud to see our state leading the way in creating jobs and advancing technology that keeps Ohio at the forefront of American industry.
Ohio Controlling Board Funding for Lorain Mega Site Project
I recently announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved the distribution of $67,412,580 from the All Ohio Future Fund for the development of a large-scale industrial "Mega Site" in Lorain County.
A lack of sewer infrastructure and adequate water needed to attract business has been a major obstacle in the area. To help address some of these issues, the project will offer a 1,000-acre site dedicated to manufacturing and industrial growth. The Mega Site property is centered around the Lorain County Regional Airport, which could reduce some of the load from Cleveland Hopkins and Burke Lakefront.
Critical stakeholders have been supportive of this initiative, including Lorain County Rural Wastewater District (LORCO), Lorain County Sanitary Engineer, the City of Vermillion, and the City of Avon Lake. Additionally, JobsOhio and Team NEO have contributed greatly to this collaboration. With all the stakeholders coming together on this project, the county-wide strategic plan includes five pillars:
- Innovative Industry and Economic Development
- Transportation
- Workforce Development and Education
- Housing
- Natural Resources
It was great working with Commissioners Riddell, Morre, and Gallagher on this collaborative effort with the Department of Development. Along with the commissioners, Lorain County Administrator Jeff Armbruster and his team have been working on this project to get it shovel-ready for years, and we are excited to continue working with them.
The All Ohio Future Fund, which will help fund the project, was established in the 2024-25 State Operating Budget, supported by both Representative and Senator Manning. The fund represented a $750 million investment to support local communities with site-readiness and preparation to attract economic development projects. The funds are administered through the Ohio Department of Development.
Ohio Controlling Board Funding for Lorain Community College
I'm also pleased to share that the Ohio Controlling Board approved the release of nearly $2.4 million in funding to support two critical efforts at Lorain Community College.
First, the College will receive $2,207,075.24 to make targeted upgrades throughout campus, including the replacement of the Spitzer Conference Center and University Center buildings' roofs, installed in 1994 (Spitzer) and 1998 (University Center).
These updates will modernize the infrastructure of the Spitzer Center and University Center, which serve our students and are home to many events that spur economic activity, benefitting the local economy in Lorain County and the greater region.
Second, the College will receive $180,756.18 to purchase necessary equipment for workforce training. Equipment will include A-dec Dental chairs and a pediatric Xray manikin for the dental hygiene program.
This is a direct investment in our future workforce. This equipment will ensure our dental students receive the best education and training before stepping into the workforce!
