Dear Neighbor,
I am proud to represent the 52nd Ohio House District and serve as the Speaker Pro Tempore, assisting Speaker Matt Huffman in leading the House of Representatives and the important legislative agenda that will support all Ohioans. It is a true honor to be the first female in House history to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass sound legislation. I also serve on the House Education, General Government, Finance, and Workforce and Higher Education committees.
If I can be of any assistance to you, please reach out to my office at 614.644.5076 or rep52@ohiohouse.gov

ALS Awareness Month
May was ALS Awareness Month, which provides a chance to highlight how Ohio is committed to raising awareness and supporting the fight against ALS. I know you'll join me in honoring those affected, advocating for research, and working toward a cure.
Lorain County Community College Roundtable
I had the opportunity to join a roundtable at Lorain County Community College to discuss the College Credit Plus program with fellow representatives, Ohio Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Mike Duffey. These conversations are important as we collaborate on equipping Ohio’s workforce for success.
Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Day Meeting
It was an honor to take part in the Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Day last month. I met with constituents, Senator Manning and the Cleveland Area Alzheimer's Association to discuss vital support for those affected by Alzheimer’s. Together, we’re raising awareness and pushing for change.
National Nurses Week
I had the opportunity to provide remarks at an event in the Ohio Statehouse for National Nurses Week hosted by the Ohio Nurses Association. I want to salute Ohio's nurses for their compassion, courage, and tireless dedication to our health and well-being.
BASF Elyria at the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council Legislative Reception
BASF Elyria took part in the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council's Legislative Reception in Columbus, and I was glad to talk with them about their innovative work driving sustainable energy solutions through lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
Ohio Education Association Advocacy Day
During the Ohio Education Association Advocacy Day, I was glad to catch up with Andrew Smith from Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools at the Statehouse.
As seen above, "Inspiring Future Educators Program” students from the University of Cincinnati and my alma mater of Kent State University were also in attendance for the Ohio Education Association Advocacy Day.
UV Awareness
As we finally enjoy some nice, warmer weather, it's important to protect your eyes.
Tips to Protect Your Eyes
- Wear a brimmed hat
- Wear sunglasses that screen 99 to 100% of UV-A and UV-B rays
- Children's sunglasses should be made of unbreakable polycarbonate
Keith's Law
The Ohio House of Representatives recently passed Keith’s Law, legislation to enhance first responders’ ability to assist individuals with special needs during emergencies. I was glad to vote "yes."
This legislation equips our first responders when responding to emergency situations and ensures the best care for vulnerable Ohioans.
Every year, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, but it's important to remember the true meaning of the day and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. May our fallen heroes never be forgotten.
