An Update from State Representative Gary Click
Dear Fellow Ohioans and Friends,
This week has been educational and informative for Representative Click and the entire Ohio General Assembly. Representative Click had the privilege of meeting with the Ohio Secretary of State's office to learn about the new software for tracking voter fraud within the state.
Through the course of this enlightening conversation, the Representative learned that data entry errors are common in written voter registration. This software will allow districts to catch these errors and confirm that voters are U.S. citizens. By continuing to use this new solution, the State of Ohio has become the leader of Voter Integrity within our nation.
Please congratulate and support our Secretary of State's office as they continue to make Ohio “the heart of it all”!
Along with this incredible opportunity, Representative Click had the privilege of hosting Ashley Young and Addison Young to speak as proponent testimony for H.B. 87- The STORK Act. This piece of legislation works to expand the income tax exemption for dependents to include conceived children in the year of conception. It will also exempt various childcare items from sales and use taxes, including infant clothing, toys, pacifiers and teething rings, baby monitors, bassinets and play yards, and breastfeeding items.
Ashley spoke about how H.B. 87 could have positively impacted her while being pregnant with her child. She urged the committee to pass this legislation to help both the mom and baby be set up for success. We thank Ashley for speaking on her experience and fighting for those inside and outside of the womb!
