Dear Neighbor,
I am proud to represent the 52nd Ohio House District and serve as the Speaker Pro Tempore, assisting Speaker Matt Huffman in leading the House of Representatives and the important legislative agenda that will support all Ohioans. It is a true honor to be the first female in House history to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass sound legislation. I also serve on the House Education, General Government, Finance, and Workforce and Higher Education committees.
If I can be of any assistance to you, please reach out to my office at 614.644.5076 or rep52@ohiohouse.gov

Committee Meetings
Over the last few weeks, I have been in several committee meetings to discuss the state operating budget. We heard testimony and had great discussions on what matters most to Ohioans.
House Bill 96 Discussions
I also hosted a meeting with Michael Helco of Saint Therese at St. Mary of the Woods and Ann Conn of McGregor PACE, to discuss the House's version of the state operating budget.
A few district specific highlights from House's version the state budget:
- This budget increases state chare of instruction by 2% for higher education institutions.
- This budget commits $250,000 each FY for the Neighborhood Alliance, supporting a homeless shelter and resources in Lorain County.
- This budget allocates $500,000 each FY to Riveon Mental Health and Recovery, supporting primary care integration into the recovery process.
Constituents in Columbus
I presented Joe Sherman of Ross Environmental with a commendation for receiving the Gold Encouraging Excellence Award from the Ohio EPA. Joe visited the Statehouse during the Ohio Environmental Services Advocacy Day earlier this month.
Ohio Library Council Advocacy Day
Our libraries serve a very important purpose for Ohioans of all ages. It was an honor to speak to the Ohio Library Council recently and I’m proud to have supported an increase in funding for libraries throughout the state!
Controlling Board Funding for Infrastructure Improvements
The Ohio Controlling Board recently approved a $300,000 Roadwork Development Grant to be used to make infrastructure improvements in the City of North Ridgeville in Lorain County.
The grant, administered by the Ohio Department of Development, will fund the remediation and resurfacing of a portion of Taylor Parkway. It will also improve access to the Ruf Briquetting facility located on Taylor Parkway and improve traffic safety in the corridor.
The project is expected to result in the creation of 19 full-time-equivalent jobs and the retention of 11 jobs.
Roadwork Development Grants are awarded for public roadwork improvements that support the expansion or attraction of businesses.
“These improvements will preserve local infrastructure and spur economic growth by creating jobs and welcoming business to our community,” said Manning.
