Dear Neighbor,
I am proud to represent the 52nd Ohio House District and serve as the Speaker Pro Tempore, assisting Speaker Matt Huffman in leading the House of Representatives and the important legislative agenda that will support all Ohioans. It is a true honor to be the first female in House history to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass sound legislation. I also serve on the House Education, General Government, Finance, and Workforce and Higher Education committees.
If I can be of any assistance to you, please reach out to my office at 614.644.5076 or rep52@ohiohouse.gov

Constituents in Columbus
 I had the pleasure of meeting with some of my constituents during the Ohio Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance Advocacy Day, including John Lane, CEO of the Winking Lizard, Ann Miller, Owner of Angelina’s Pizza, and Grant Stahl from the Ohio Restaurant Association. We also had a Cleveland State University student, Cory Hunt, shadow our office that day and join various meetings including this one.

Rep. Manning Meets with Horizon Education Centers
I also hosted a meeting with the Horizon Education Center to discuss the upcoming State Operating Budget, and how we need to prioritize childcare services for Ohioans. It's very important for all families across our state to have access to childcare, allowing them to go to work and provide for their family.

Ohio House Concurs on Transportation Budget
I recently announced that the Ohio House of Representatives concurred on Senate amendments to Sub. House Bill 54 – Ohio’s Transportation Budget. The bill allocates funding for Ohio’s extensive transportation system, prioritizing efforts to keep Ohio moving forward.
Sub. House Bill 54 is the primary mechanism to fund transportation infrastructure development and maintenance for FY 2026 and 2027. It invests more than $11.48 billion over the biennium into highway construction and maintenance and provides funding for safety upgrades on Ohio roadways. Sub. House Bill 54 includes provisions that aim to preserve Ohio’s vital infrastructure, promote economic development, and boost public safety.
“This funding will directly improve transportation infrastructure and make our roadways safer,” said Representative Manning.

Rep. Manning Holds Press Conference on Bill to Implement Computer Science Graduation Requirement
 Earlier this month, I held a press conference on legislation that will require students to take a computer science course to graduate high school in Ohio. I am sponsoring this legislation alongside State Representative Don Jones.
Key provisions of the bill include:
- Requires public high schools to offer at least one computer science course to students by the 2027-2028 school year;
- Requires schools that do not have an existing computer science course to proactively notify parents of the new course offering;
- Requires schools that are not able to offer a computer science course in a traditional classroom setting by the deadline to submit an action plan to ODEW by June 30, 2027, outlining a plan to comply; and
- Starting with the graduating class of 2032, requires students to take one unit of computer science in any of grades 8-12 to graduate.
“This legislation has been intentionally crafted to best serve Ohio schools and set students up for success in the modern workforce,” said Representative Manning.
March is National Women's History Month
My fellow female colleagues and I had the opportunity to share advice and insights in celebration of National Women’s History Month. I appreciated this opportunity to share my thoughts and celebrate women across our great state.
