Due to ongoing and consistent fiscal discipline by your Franklin County Auditor's office, the Auditor's office redistributed $5 million to Franklin County local schools, libraries, parks, municipalities and agencies.
By state law, this distribution is the closest the Auditor’s office can get to refunding money directly to the residents and businesses of Franklin County. In total, $35.5 million has been returned since I took office in 2019.
As in the past, the majority of the $5 million – more than $3.2 million - is going to school districts across the county.
Additionally, Franklin County cities and villages will receive $426,937, townships will get $269,905, libraries and parks will get $176,049, and county agencies will get $894,229.
All told, since 2019 the office has distributed $23.1 million to school districts, $2.8 million to municipalities, $1.76 million to townships, $1 million to libraries and $6.6 million to government agencies.

Property Tax Bill Due Date Extended to Help Homeowners
The Ohio Department of Taxation has approved a request from the Franklin County Treasurer and the Auditor’s office to extend the due date for next year’s first-half property tax bills by a month to accommodate property owners.
First-half property tax bills will be due Monday, March 2, as the deadline of February 28 falls on a Saturday.
The additional month will give homeowners who are already busy around the holidays more time to prepare and mail their bills. The new dates are also more aligned with the due dates of other Ohio counties.

Extended Dog License Season Is Here
Dog Licensing season is upon us, and the deadline to purchase a reduced-cost license has been extended to February 28. Licenses may be purchased without incurring additional fees starting December 1.
Dog licenses are available for purchase online at https://doglicense.franklincountyohio.gov or at the Auditor’s office license counter, 373 S. High St., 21st Floor in downtown Columbus. The counter is open Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm.
In addition to being required by state law, dog licensing ensures that any lost dog is returned quickly to their owners. License fees help support the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

Jewelry Store wins November True Transactions Award
Annapurna Jewelry in Reynoldsburg has won the November True Transaction Award for its use of accurate scales and scanners in its sale of Nepali-style jewelry.
“I am happy to recognize the team at Annapurna for winning the True Transaction Award for protecting consumers through their use of accurate scales and scanners,” Auditor Stinziano said.
Annapurna Jewelry sells a variety of Nepali jewelry. The store is located inside Asian Fashion at 7140 E. Main St. in Reynoldsburg.
