Media Advisory: County Auditors to Discuss Property Tax Relief at News Conference Friday 

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano will join a bipartisan panel of Auditors at a County Auditors’ Association of Ohio (CAAO) Property Tax Relief Briefing this Friday (July 25) in Marysville to discuss a menu of options for providing Ohio homeowners with meaningful property tax relief 

 

Other expected participants include Union County Auditor Andrea Weaver, Madison County Auditor Jennifer Hunter, Champaign County Auditor Karen Bailey, Logan County Auditor Jack Reser, Marion County Auditor Joan Kasotis, Delaware County Auditor George Kaitsa, Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith, and other central Ohio county auditors.  

 

The briefing will highlight county auditor efforts to reform property taxes, including modernizing and expanding the Homestead Exemption and eliminating the Non-Business Credit and expanding the Owner-Occupancy Credit. It will also detail a menu of targeted relief that could include tax deferral programs for those in need, residential stability zones, and circuit breaker programs that cap property tax increases.
