September Community Update

Know the Value of Your Vote Mailer will be sent to each property owner in Franklin County.

As we approach the general election, it’s important to recognize that levies on your ballot can impact your property taxes. Early and absentee voting begins October 8, and I encourage everyone to Know the Value of Your Vote before casting your ballot.

To help voters understand the impact of those levies, your Franklin County Auditor’s office has unveiled a newly updated Know the Value of Your Vote Levy Estimator, which will enable homeowners to see how a levy or bond issue would affect their property taxes should it pass in the November election.

The estimator will show all the levies that will be on the ballot for your location and the impact they will have on your taxes should they be approved by voters in November.

This general election there will be one countywide levy and 19 levies and bond issues in jurisdictions across Franklin County, and their passage would support important government services like schools, municipalities, and fire departments. They will also affect the amount of property tax you pay.

I hope that the updated levy estimator will empower homeowners to Know the Value of Your Vote.

The updated Levy Estimator is a simple and handy tool to understand how proposed levies and bond issues will affect your property taxes.

To use the Levy Estimator, visit https://audr-apps.franklincountyohio.gov/LevyEstimator. After entering your home’s address or parcel number, the estimator will show all of the levies on your ballot, and both your current and estimated taxes should a levy or bond issue in your jurisdiction be approved by voters in the November general election.
