Final call for residents to complete Franklin County Auditor’s office Neighborhood Survey

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Franklin County Auditor’s office is conducting a Neighborhood Survey, where residents are encouraged to tell the office about their neighborhood to help assign more accurate home valuations.

The Neighborhood Survey, which closes on March 31, gives residents the opportunity to provide additional information about their neighborhood to the Auditor’s office. This information will then be used to help the Auditor’s office establish the most accurate and equitable property values possible as part of the upcoming 2023 mass reappraisal.

“The Neighborhood Survey takes about 30 seconds to complete and is a great opportunity for all county residents to have their voices heard,” said Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano. “No one understands a neighborhood better than the people who live in it, and resident input on the data will help ensure accuracy in our property value reappraisal this year.”

As required by state law, this year the Franklin County Auditor must complete a property value reappraisal of all properties in Franklin County. A variety of data-driven techniques are used by Franklin County Auditor’s office appraisers to determine property values. The results from the Neighborhood Survey will be used in conjunction with this data, to help illustrate the information gathered from these sources.

In August, when the initial reappraisal is complete, a letter will be sent to all property owners in Franklin County with a notice of their proposed property value. This will be followed by property value reviews and then final property values issued in December by the Ohio Department of Taxation.

The survey can be found online at www.FranklinCountyAuditor.com/NeighborhoodSurvey.
