Auditor’s Sale of Forfeited Properties to Be Held Tuesday, Nov. 9

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano announced that the Auditor’s office will hold the annual Auditor’s Sale of forfeited properties Tuesday, November 9.

The auction of properties seized because of nonpayment of real estate taxes will be held at the county courthouse, 373 S. High St., 1st Floor Auditorium in downtown Columbus. There are nine parcels that are being auctioned at this year’s sale.

“The Auditor’s Sale is an important opportunity to sell forfeited properties to owners who will keep up with their property taxes and return them to revenue-generating parcels for the residents and businesses of Franklin County,” said Auditor Stinziano.

Potential bidders may view the parcels and pre-register for the auction through the Auditor’s website here: https://apps.franklincountyauditor.com/auditorsale. Pre-registration ends on Thursday, Nov. 4 and bidders may register on the day of the sale starting at 7 a.m. in the courthouse.

All purchases of real estate are “buyer beware” and it is strongly recommended that each buyer consult with a real estate attorney and/or title company regarding their parcel(s) of interest prior to the auction.

The auction will begin at 9 a.m. and will continue until all of the parcels have been sold.

Successful bids up to $500 must be paid in full on the day of the auction, including the transfer and conveyance and recording fees. Sales over $500 will require a deposit of $500. All deposits are non-refundable and all sales are final.
