Auditor’s office to Hold “Shred Hunger” Event Offering Document Shredding and E-recycling Services

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Franklin County Auditor’s office is partnering with the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) and the Hilliard Food Pantry to host a combination document shredding, electronic recycling, and food drive event this Saturday, Oct. 16.

The free “Shred Hunger” event, which is also supported by the Hilliard Kiwanis Club and the Rotary Club of Hilliard, will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm at the pantry, 4410 Cemetery Rd. in Hilliard.

At the event, residents can bring documents and electronics to be collected and recycled in a safe, secure, and environmentally friendly way. Participants are also encouraged to bring nonperishable food and household items for donation to the pantry.

Accepted electronic items include computers, printers, tablets, stereos, LCD televisions, tube-style televisions, MP3 players, batteries, cables, keyboards, cell phones or other electronic equipment. Household appliances, vacuum cleaners, lamps, and lightbulbs are not accepted.

Suggested pantry donations include canned soup, oatmeal, cereal, condiments, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, diapers, and laundry detergent.
