Franklin County Auditor’s Office Wins Award for GIS Services

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Franklin County Auditor’s office has won the Ohio GIS Best Practices Award from the Ohio Geographically Referenced Information Program (OGRIP) for its outstanding GIS services, Auditor Stinziano announced Thursday.

The award, which will be presented Friday at the Ohio GIS Conference in Columbus, recognizes the Auditor’s office Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program for its overall best practices. The GIS program powers numerous Auditor’s office initiatives, including appraisals, the portal viewer, tax incentives hub, the parcel viewer, and the real estate sales dashboard. The GIS program is also used by many other county agencies in their work, including the board of elections, engineer, emergency management, job and family services, public health, metro parks, and the sheriff.

“I’m proud of our GIS team and the outstanding services they provide to the residents and businesses of Franklin County,” Auditor Stinziano said. “The Auditor’s office is using innovative technology to deliver 21st century solutions such as our GIS program.”

OGRIP is the GIS coordinating body for state and local government. The Department of Administrative Services Office of Information Technology houses the OGRIP Program Office and provides administrative support to the Council.
