Property Tax Assistance Program Deadline Extended
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The deadline to apply for the Property Tax Assistance Program (PTAP) has been extended to July 5, Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano reminded homeowners Thursday.
The program continues to accept applications from qualifying older adults who need help paying their 2019 second-half property taxes.
The PTAP provides emergency one-time property tax assistance to low-income homeowners age 60 or older, and is a nonprofit entity funded solely through donations. The Auditor’s office has administered the program since November.
“I want to help older adults remain in their homes and age in place, which has always been one of my top priorities,” Stinziano said.
PTAP applications are reviewed by a Board consisting of the Franklin County Auditor, Franklin County Treasurer, Franklin County Office on Aging, Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, Concord Counseling, Clintonville CRC, Columbus Catholic Social Services, Syntero, and St. Stephens Community House.
Applications are due by July 5. Information about the program and an application can be found on the Auditor’s office website, or by calling 614.525.HOME.
The PTAP was founded in 1987 and has supported hundreds of qualifying homeowners in Franklin County.
