AUDITOR STINZIANO REMINDS HOMEOWNERS OF ELECTRONIC FILING OPTIONS

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano reminded homeowners Friday of electronic options to contest property values before the March 31st Board of Revision filing deadline. The reminder comes as remaining filing events have been cancelled due to the closure of libraries across Franklin County, which were scheduled to host the in-person events.

The Board of Revision, which is comprised of Auditor Stinziano, the county treasurer, and the president of the board of county commissioners, holds hearings where property values are challenged and can adjust the values. Homeowners wishing to file a complaint on the current market value of their property must file form DTE-1 By March 31st, 2020. Complaints can be filed:

  • By email (bor@franklincountyohio.gov)
  • By fax (614-525-6252)
  • By mail (373 S. High St., 20th Fl, Columbus, OH 43215, postmarked by March 31)

“Your Franklin County Auditor’s office wants to make it easy to understand and appeal property value assessments. We will work with residents to offer outstanding public service during this current public health crisis,” Stinziano said.
