MMR Vaccine Clinic Happening Today!
There are currently six confirmed cases of measles in central Ohio. Measles is extremely contagious, It spreads easily when an infected person breathes, coughs or sneezes. It can cause severe disease, complications, and even death.
The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is to stay up to date on your MMR vaccine. FCPH is hosting an MMR Vaccine Clinic today from 11am - 4pm, details are below.

Community Health Action Teams (CHAT) Updates:
Upper Arlington CHAT
FCPH and the Upper Arlington CHAT will be participating in the second annual Upper Arlington Public Library's Community Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, March 7th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free to community members of all ages. Health screenings, resources, and entertainment will be provided. Be sure to stop by our booth and say hi!
Hillard CHAT
On Monday March 9th, the Hilliard CHAT will host a Mindful Monday Series, which invites you to take a few minutes to pause, breathe, and reset before wrapping up your day. This drop-in virtual session will take place from 4:30-5:30 p.m. via Microsoft Teams, and our very own Health Educator, Mary Nern, will be sharing information and resources on mindful eating.
Clinton Township CHAT
The Clinton Township CHAT is resuming their Family Movie Night Series to provide a fun opportunity for the community to watch family-friendly movies and to learn about different health resources within Franklin County. Each event will feature themed activities, vendors, and free food!
Since March is National Nutrition Month, movie-goers will have two opportunities to watch the feature movie, Ratatouille, while having access to healthy eating handouts and participating in a smoothie bike demonstration.
The first event is scheduled for March 6th at 999 Chambers Road, and the second one will be on March 20th at 3820 Cleveland Avenue. Both events will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
In addition, community members are welcome to attend Clinton Township's Free Community Clinic in partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on March 20th at 3820 Cleveland Avenue. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive free, basic health screenings and assessments from medical professionals. Moreover, onsite prescriptions will be available if needed.

Franklin County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)
Franklin County Public Health is pleased to announce, after months of conversations, planning and strategizing, the 2026 - 2030 Franklin County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is complete. Over the next several weeks FCPH will work with our Health Works Franklin County Partners to disseminate the new plan and identify leads in each strategy area. The next Health Works meeting is scheduled for Thursday March 26 at 9am. Location TBD. If you're not a member of Health Works and you want to be involved as we kick-off work on the new CHIP, please register and we'll add you to the updates.

ACEs and PACEs Coalition Meeting
FCPH hosted the second meeting of the new ACEs, PACEs, and Resilience Coalition. This new group was convened after the ACEs Summit last summer and will now be part of the new Community Health Improvement Plan. The meeting included more than 30 organizations who have committed to the work of building an ACEs Resilient Community. More details about the coalition and its future work will be posted on the Health Works Franklin County website.

Ohio Partners for Cancer Control General Membership Meeting
The Ohio Partners for Cancer Control (OPCC) held their first general membership meeting for 2026 on Thursday March 5. More than 75 members joined in person and online to recognize National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, hear empowering stories of survivorship, get updates on federal and state legislation and hear from partners at Blood Cancer United.  Franklin County Suicide Prevention Coalition (FCSPC) has upcoming virtual Question, Persuade, and Refer trainings scheduled. These trainings are free for anyone who lives, works, or volunteers in Franklin County.
- What: Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) training
- QPR is an evidence-based suicide prevention training where participants learn how to recognize and respond to the warning signs of suicide. https://qprinstitute.com/about-qpr

Becoming a certified QPR Gatekeeper is so important because it provides practical skills you can use to help others in your life, whether that’s your coworkers, those you serve, or your loved ones. It’s a helpful way to feel more prepared if someone around you may be struggling with thoughts of suicide or their mental health in general. Additional spring dates are coming soon!
2026 District Advisory Council Meeting
The 2026 District Advisory Council Meeting is just a few weeks away. This year's meeting is scheduled for Thursday March 19, at 5:30pm.
The Franklin County District Advisory Council (DAC) is currently accepting letters of interest from individuals who would like to serve as a member of the Franklin County Board of Health.
The DAC is made up of the Chairman of each group of township trustees, the Mayor of each village and the President of the Board of County Commissioners.
This Board appointment will serve a five-year term that expires in March 2031. This appointment must be filled by a physician (MD or DO) and will be made with regards to equal representation of all parts of the Health District. The DAC may consider the applicant’s place of residence and employment.

Food license renewals were due on March 2, 2026. Those who missed the deadline can still pay by credit card.
- Visit to the Accela portal to log in or to create an account if this is the first time that you are using the portal. We recommend that you do not use Internet Explorer to access Accela.
- Connect to your facility using the PIN code supplied by the Ohio Department of Health via email. If you did not receive your PIN code or if you have sold your business, please email us.
- Submit your credit card payment to renew your license.
